Back from vacation
We finally returned from a month long vacation in South Africa and London. It was great to relax and see family and friends again. We stayed at a nice hotel for a week in Plettenberg Bay. I have pictures of the view from the room here, here, here and here. While there, we went to
Birds of Eden, the largest free flight aviary in the world - I have pictures of this here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here. We stayed in our house in Cape Town the rest of the time. I have some pictures of the garden here and here (taken on a misty morning). While in Cape Town, Athena and I visited the beach at a little town called Scarborough on our fourth wedding anniversary (we were previously married there). I have some pictures from the exact location here, here and here.
Finally, we landed up back in London for a few days. We stayed at an old (but nice) hotel. Some pictures taken from/of the hotel here, here and here. We spent some time in Picadilly Circus - some pics here, here and here.
For the most part I avoided computers completely
. Though I managed to punctuate the vacation by giving one talk on "The Future of Computer Graphics Hardware and Software" at the University of Cape Town , which was great fun.
